Q. What is the GCE Consultant Referral Service?

A. The Consultant Referral Service is offered by the GCE to hospital members seeking qualified consultants to lead customized board retreats, educational sessions at board meetings and / or provide general consulting in the area of health care governance


Q. Why was the consultant referral service created?

A. The Ontario Hospital Association has frequently received requests from our member hospitals seeking qualified consultants. In response to this need, the Governance Centre of Excellence established a web-based Consultant Referral Service. This service will assist hospitals and other health care organizations in selecting a consultant that will serve their needs.


Q. How does this service work for hospitals?

A. Hospitals have a web-based resource to search and identify a consultant that will fit the needs of the hospital for a particular consulting service. The hospital will contact the consultant directly to negotiate an agreement.

Q. How much does the Consultant Referral Service cost?

A. There is no cost to view, use or search the site. The cost of consultant work will depend on the consultant chosen and the service required.


Q. Will there be a charge to use this service to hospital members?

A. No. The service is free to access on the GCE website at
www.gce-oha.com/consultants


Q. How often is the information updated?

A. The information will be updated periodically based on information received from the consultants or additional services added.


Q. What special features will the website have?

A. A member will be able to search consultant profiles in a variety of ways. By region, organization name and by area of expertise. Each consultant profile lists the company information, logo and link to the organization’s own website.
