GLC Call for Nominations
The Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) is pleased to announce a call for nominations for new members of the OHA’s Governance Leadership Council. This Council provides external expert service and counsel to the OHA Board of Directors on strategies required to ensure successful implementation of OHA’s governance program under the auspices of the Governance Centre of Excellence.
The OHA is seeking individuals who:
- Have a distinguished track record in governance and a solid understanding of best practices in governance in the private and/or not-for-profit sectors in Canada;
- Have a strong understanding of the not-for-profit sector;
- Are effective communicators; and
- Are willing to volunteer their time to meet at least four to five times a year.
Specific skills and expertise to be reflected among the members of the Council include:
- Demonstrated leadership in governance renewal in the hospital and broader health sector;
- Demonstrated leadership in governance reform in the private sector;
- Finance and audit expertise;
- Legal expertise;
- Government experience in dealing with governance and accountability of transfer-payment agencies;
- Demonstrated academic achievement in relation to governance and accountability;
- Expertise in governance performance indicators and performance reporting.
